      Dritz Buttonhole Elastic is woven and soft on both sides. With buttonholes spaced evenly down the center, it is used for making adjustable waistbands on the inside of clothing. Great for children’s wear and maternity wear.

      1. Attach waistband to garment.
      2. On inside of waistband, make a buttonhole a few inches from each side of garment opening.
      3. Cut elastic 5 inches longer than total space between buttonholes.
      4. Insert elastic inside waistband extend elastic ends out of buttonholes.
      5. Close and finish waistband.
      6. Secure elastic by stitching vertically at back of waistband; turn ends of elastic under and stitch.
      7. Attach buttons to inside of waistband.
      8. Slip elastic over buttons.
